Welch Racing Inks Original Pizza Logs Sponsorship Deal

Veteran racer Mike Welch will enter the 2010 season looking to add another incredible year to his already star studded career.

Welch, 44 of Lyons, New York has recently announced that Bob Cordova of Original Pizza Logs will come on board as a sponsor for the upcoming season as Welch looks to improve his already impressive career record.

"It's awesome," said Welch, who announced the deal complete earlier this afternoon (Thursday, January 21) with enthusiasm. "It's a big opportunity for me. I know that Bob gives a lot of support to several other drivers in the region. I want to go out on the track every night representing Original Pizza Logs with professionalism."

Ransomville Speedway DIRTcar 358-Modified star Todd Burley, Sportsman driver Jipp Ortiz, Modified sensation Erick Rudolph and Micro Sprint star Tyler Walker are just a few of the drivers that Bob Cordova and Original Pizza Logs supports on the race track.

Welch is a six-time Canandaigua Speedway Street Stock Champion winning the title in 2003-05 and 2007-09. He is also the 2008 and ‘09 Parts Plus Big Six Street Stock Series Champion and the 2008 UMP New York State DIRTcar Champion. In addition, Mike has 48 wins at Canandaigua and has also won feature events at Rolling Wheels Raceway, Cayuga County Fair Speedway, Black Rock Speedway and Fulton Speedway.

In 2010, Mike will be extremely busy from behind the wheel of his 2010 Impala SS built by EMS with power from Sonny Barron. He will compete in all racing events at Canandaigua, Rolling Wheels and Cayuga County along with the six race Parts Plus Mr. DIRTcar Championship Stock Car Series, presented by Wix Filters. He will also run special events at Black Rock Speedway and Can-Am Motorsports Park.

Mike's biggest fans are his mom Jean and his three children, Nathan 19, Alicia 17 and Seth 15.
