Race Notes: Terry Phillips lead all 25 laps from the pole en route to his first ever feature win at the Southern New Mexico Speedway. Phillips built up a sizeable advantage over the field, but as the laps wound down, RC Whitwell made a charge and pulled to the inside of Phillips as the lead duo raced out of turn four for the checkered flag. Phillips would win by a car length over Whitwell. Jeremy Payne would race from 8th to 3rd with Scott Drake and the defending race winner Jason Hughes rounding out the top five and locking themselves into the 50-lap $10,000 to win feature on Sunday. Jay Rosales, Scott Logston, Rodney Sanders, Jimmy Ray and Eddie Martin finished out the top ten.
